Job Summary
Will serve as Assistant Operations Manager (Supervisory, Interdisciplinary) with the Army Corps of Engineers, Operations and Readiness Division, Muskingum Area Office, located in Dover OH; which includes several multipurpose lake projects provide flood damage reduction, fish and wildlife management, low-flow augmentation, municipal water supply, water quality control, and recreation.
Major Duties
- Assures the efficient and effective application of an established recreation and resource management program at Corps lake projects.
- Plans, coordinates, and directs the operation, maintenance, improvement, and control of project facilities and resources.
- Plans, directs, and conducts periodic inspections of project areas and the drainage basin to observe conditions affecting public interest.
- Administer effective programs relative to public safety, physical security, law enforcement, pest control, emergency readiness, forestry, agriculture, etc.
- Directs and coordinates Operational Management Plans for each assigned project.
- Prepares and justifies initial budget estimates for personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies required to carry out a safe and efficient operation and maintenance program.
- Ensures a viable, ongoing safety program is carried out for Corps employees, contractors and the public throughout the area.
- Sets priorities and prepares schedules for work completion.
- Assigns and directs work of subordinates.
- Monitors vacancies/staffing shortages and ensures adequate staffing for mission accomplishment.

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing a financial management software program to develop budgets and formulate, execute, distribute, and track funding, expenditures, and obligations; supervising subordinates, planning and assigning work to subordinates outlining scope of work, deadlines to be met, and proper approach; specialized experience in major maintenance and a clear understanding of water control operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). B. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Pay Range
$77,678.00 - $100,985.00
