NASA - The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) gave notice of a meeting for the science committee of the NASA Advisory Council (NAC). The meeting is on November 2, 2015 at 10-5:30pm (EDT). [Volume 80, Issue 190 (October 1, 2015)]

NOAA - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a notice of availability of a Draft Programmatic Damage Assessment and Restoration Plan and Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PDARP/PEIS). The draft includes an assessment the damage caused by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This notice is available to the public, and the trustees are seeking the public’s comments on the document by Dec. 4, 2015. [Volume 80, Issue 192 (October 5, 2015)]

DOE - The Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) submitted notice of the 2-year renewal of the DOE/NSF Nuclear Science Advisory Committee. The committee provides advice and assistance on to the DOE and NSF with regards to the field of basic nuclear science research. [Volume 80, Issue 193 (October 6, 2015)]

NASA - The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) gave notice for an upcoming meeting of the Earth Science Subcommittee of the NASA Advisory Council (NAC). The meeting will be held in order to gather scientific/technical information from the scientific community that will help program planning. The meeting will be open to the public and will be held on Oct 28 at 8:30-5pm and Oct 29 9-3pm (EDT) at NASA headquarters. [Volume 80, Issue 194 (October 7, 2015)]

EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a notice of availability of the Environmental Impact Statements (EIS). EPA’s comment letters on the EISs can be found here. [Volume 80, Issue 196 (October 9, 2015)]

NOAA - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is accepting nominations and applications for (at least one year) membership on the National Sea Grant Advisory Board. This federal advisory committee administers advice on the National Sea Grant College Program (NSGCP). Nominations are open ended, resumes can be sent to the address specified in the federal register. FEMA - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), gave notice of the maximum amount of assistance under the Individuals and Households Program for emergencies and major disasters. [Volume 80, Issue 199 (October 15, 2015)]

DOI - The Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), is giving notice of collection of public comments on the the potential impacts of Atlantic Offshore wind energy development. USGS - The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is accepting nominations for membership on the Advisory Committee on Climate Change and Natural Resource Science. Written nominations can be sent to the address indicated in the Federal Register and must be received by January 15, 2016. [Volume 80, Issue 201 (October 19, 2015)]

NOAA - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released a final rule which changes the fees charged to access NOAA’s environmental data, information, and related products and services. The effective date of this final rule is November 23, 2015. [Volume 80, Issue 204 (October 22, 2015)]

EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released their final rule establishing carbon emission guidelines for existing fossil fuel-fired electric generating units. Specifically, with regards to carbon dioxide (CO2) emission performance rates. This rule is effective December 22, 2015.  [Volume 80, Issue 205 (October 23, 2015)]

FEMA - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a final rule with regards to final flood determination information by listing ‘Base Flood Elevation (BFE)’ data for certain communities throughout the United States. The BFEs effect floodplain management measures in order to qualify for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). [Volume 80, Issue 206 (October 26, 2015)]

DOI - The Department of the Interior (DOI) and the National Park Service (NPS) are proposing a new rule to update service-wide regulations governing the exercise of non-federal oil and gas rights. This new rule would align the new proposed regulations with existing policies. Public comments on the proposed rule are to be received by November 25, 2015, see Federal Register for submission details. [Volume 80, Issue 206 (October 26, 2015)]

NSF - The National Science Foundation (NSF) announces the schedule of an open meeting for the Advisory Committee for Mathematical and Physical Sciences on November 5 and 6, 2015 at the NSF office in Arlington, VA. The purpose of the meeting is to provide advice on major goals and policies pertaining to mathematical and physical science programs/activities. [Volume 80, Issue 206 (October 26, 2015)]

DOE - The Department of Energy (DOE) gives notice of an open virtual meeting for the National Coal Council on November 12, 2015; 11:00 to 12:30pm (EDT). The purpose of the council is to provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on general policy matters pertaining to the coal industry.
