Danian (Dan'-i-an). A stage of the Standard Global Chronostratigraphic Scale: lowermost Paleocene and base of Cenozoic (above Maastrichtian Stage of Cretaceous , below Selandian). The basal GSSP in Tunisia coincides with global iridium anomaly.
