Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to conduct a program of postdoctoral scientific research and scholarship in the area of Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). On April 10, 2019, the EHT announced the first direct image ever of a black hole, with impact in many fields of science, and for the general public.
Major Duties
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
1. Conduct a program of research and scholarship in the area of the Event Horizon Telescope under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator.
2. Assist in the development of software and procedures of the reduction, analysis and interpretation of data as needed; or assist in the development of analytical methods and/or software to model physical processes and conditions; or assist in the development of scientific instrumentation for the collection of data, as needed.
3. Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research in which engaged, for example prepare papers for publication in scientific journals, prepare and present findings at scientific meetings.
4. Support, as required, the development of proposals for research funding.
5. Engage in wider research and scholarly activities of your research group, School and Institute.
6. Mentor and assist, as appropriate and as directed, the research graduated students in your area of research.

Pay Range
$62,780.00 - $81,619.00
