Job Summary

Serve as a senior scientist and/or program manager performing national/international scientific work involving studies of the functions, environmental response, biological activities and/or processes of humans and/or animals and their component parts.

Major Duties

  • Provide scientific advice, consultation and leadership in designing, coordinating and maintaining scientific project goals, objectives and priorities within an Organization and in the general public health community.
  • Implement scientific policies and procedures on biological science practices and principles.
  • Identify and analyze scientific issues and their impact on operations that are critical to the public health community at large.
  • Collaborate with scientists and program consultants in various aspects of study or survey design process, and other study support duties including analyzing and reporting of data and data dissemination to audiences.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in designing, overseeing, implementing, and conducting biological scientific surveys /studies or projects to identify and analyze scientific issues.

Pay Range

$107,807.00 - $153,659.00
