This position is located in the Mass Spectrometry Data Center Group, BMD, MML, NIST in Gaithersburg, MD. Are you ready to explore your future with NIST? Major Duties

The incumbent will center on the preparation of in vivo samples, such as serum/plasma, tissues, and in vitro samples, such as cells and culture media for protein identification, protein profiling, and post-translational modification identification (PTM) by mass spectrometry. The work involves monoclonal antibody de novo sequencing by in-gel/in-solution digestion methods and all efforts are directed toward building peptide mass spectral libraries.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. IN ADDITION: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level (or ZP-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience in performing laboratory protein digests.

Pay Range

$69,581.00 - $108,422.00
