Major Duties
You will:
- Support the development of national strategies and guidance in order to assist EPA Regions, States and Tribes in the enhancement of State and Tribal wetland programs, including establishment and implementation of water quality standards for wetlands and scientific field tools.
- Analyze, measures and reports on program outputs and environmental outcomes; drafting policy documents and regulations. Contribute to identifying areas of work, priorities, and schedules and helps develop and implement project plans.
- Promote testing of innovative approaches to measuring programmatic improvement, such as in Clean Water Act (CWA) wetland permitting and restoration programs, and to identify strategies to expand such new approaches to states, tribes and others.
- Participate in agency and interagency workgroups and in stakeholder and other outreach efforts to solicit public and/or expert input regarding future aquatic resource restoration and protection actions and communicates with States, Regions, Associations and other on issues to ensure constructive relations and provide/obtain information.
- Provide leadership responsibilities related to the initiation, negotiation, administration, and/or closeout of grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements (IAs) including responsibility for monitoring performance.
Qualifications
In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as analyze, plan develop and implements water policy and regulations related to section 404 under the Clean Water Act (CWA), including CWA jurisdiction and scope, section 401 water quality certification, and 404 permit program assumption by states and tribes.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$99,172.00 - $128,920.00
