Job Summary

You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER in the Facilities Management & Sustainment Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties

  • You will provide technical direction for all services provided by the various business lines on the Integrated Product Teams and Installations with the main focus on civil engineering pavement issues.
  • You will serve as a technical leader for airfield and roadway paving.
  • You will provide input to training plans and provides training and mentoring to technical staff and personnel in other business lines.
  • You will serve as chairperson or member of A-E selection boards and Technical Evaluation Boards (TEB) and as senior technical advisor for Source Selection Boards.
  • You will manage IQ contracts and may function as the Contracting Officers Technical Representative for services provided by consultants.
  • You will serve as point of contact for vendors and manufacturers associations review of products and information and their application to Business lines.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0810 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following Civil Engineering duties: 1) Applying knowledge of pavement evaluation methodologies including micropaver, Pavement Computer Assisted Structural Engineering (PCASE), etc.; 2) Interpreting laws, regulations and policies to effect good business decisions and successful project execution; 3) Utilizing state of the art technical skills and techniques; 4) Developing schedules and cost estimates; and 5) Leading, training, or mentoring others to achieve engineering objectives. Pay Range

$102,104.00 - $132,739.00
