Job Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties

  • You will interpret the intent of the contract documents (e.g., drawings and specifications) to make final engineering or architecture determinations on contract requirements.
  • You will manage projects to confirm successful engineering and architectural design techniques are applied.
  • You will perform site visits to constructions sites to investigate construction problems, evaluate conditions, and render technical direction on foundation or paving problems.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Registered Professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or any state in the U.S.. You must submit a current copy of your Professional Engineer Registration to be considered for this position. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying advanced civil engineering concepts, principles and practices to civil related projects (i.e. foundation plans for buildings and equipment, water and sewer and utility services, drainage systems and structures, structural adequacy of buildings, maintenance and repair to airfield operational pavements and renovation and/or restoration of existing facilities); 2) Preparing civil and structural designs (i.e. plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates) for civil engineering projects; 3) Developing specialized reports and briefings to keep upper management and/or clients informed of civil engineering design phases; and 4) Applying various architectural/engineering disciplines (i.e. mechanical, architectural, structural, and electrical) to assist with planning and monitoring large-scale projects and assure compliance with established objectives, standards, and requirements. Pay Range

$104,182.00 - $135,440.00
