Job Summary
You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Major Duties
- You will prepare outlines of services, scopes of work, construction estimates, or engineering fee estimates for work to be performed under Architect-Engineer contracts.
- You will investigate construction to identify major problems and initiate corrective actions.
- You will meet with personnel (e.g., architectural and engineering experts, consultants) to resolve construction project issues.
- You will brief senior level leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting strategic objectives.
- You will use computer aided design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD) to prepare concept designs, final working drawings, and engineering calculations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Prepares studies, designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for a wide range of shore facility projects (new and existing). (Work may involve: site plan design, site grading and layout; storm-water conveyance and management system; water, wastewater, and oily waste conveyance and treatment systems; street, parking, and highways; airfield facilities; and extensive alterations, modifications or repair to existing facilities to extend their useful life); 2) Directs the activities of others assigned to the project in the preparation of final documents including plans, specifications and cost estimates; 3) Determines final project requirements, and ensures that all statutory regulations and requirements are met and permits are acquired; 4) Review progress on projects to ensure the work is within budget and completed within the execution schedule; and 5) Prepares or directs preliminary design studies, establishes design criteria, outlines the detailed design scope of large projects, final design calculations and plans. Pay Range
$77,091.00 - $100,223.00
