Job Summary
This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Major Duties
- You will perform professional engineering work in the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for construction, alteration, renovation, addition, and rehabilitation projects.
- You will participate in pre-design, design review, and other technical meetings and conferences.
- You will visit construction sites to observe conditions impacting the execution of project design and identifies solutions to design technical problems involving site development, transportation infrastructure, and utility systems.
- You will provide advice and assistance on various work aspects and estimates and reports on expected time of work completion.
- You will utilize various forms of computer hardware and software to accomplish engineering tasks, which includes computer aided design and drafting systems, technical design/evaluation software, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Qualifications
FOR THE GS-07 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional. understanding and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects; carrying out, interpreting, and explaining basic computations and calculations; and reading, understanding, manipulating analyzing, interpreting, and conveying findings. FOR THE GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional. understanding and completing limited engineering or architectural designs and projects. FOR THE GS-11 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) researching, interpreting, and carrying out engineering assignments; AND 2) providing technical input on the planning, design, construction, testing, or maintenance of projects. For the GS-12 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional. 1) researching, interpreting, and carrying out engineering assignments; 2) providing technical input on the planning, design, construction, testing, or maintenance of projects; AND 3) collecting and analyzing engineering data to solve problems, develop reports, and provide recommendations. Pay Range
$47,264.00 - $96,978.00
