Job Summary

You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, CODE 900 of PSNS and IMF.

Major Duties

  • You will function as a Structural Design Engineer on matters concerning shipyard industrial plant equipment and its infrastructure.
  • You will ensure project development, execution and quality in non-nuclear facilities plant equipment projects.
  • You will conduct site visits to verify the validity and scope of plant equipment/facility requests.
  • You will manage project execution and coordinate project work around the waterfront operations.
  • You will keep track of all status' of assigned projects from planning, to engineering, through execution.
  • You will perform studies, tests and evaluations of structural systems including; scaffolding, keel blocks, fall protections, pier platforms, and storage racks.
  • You will work with other departments and managers to ensure projects goals are understood and there are adequet resources to complete the job.

Qualifications

For GS-12:

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer providing technical project management for civil or structural engineering services including preparing drawings and calculations for the design of industrial support facilities and plant equipment. For GS-11:

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer supporting technical projects for civil or structural engineering services including executing studies, tests, or evaluations of structures, industrial support facilities, or plant equipment. Pay Range

$67,816.00 - $105,672.00
