Major Duties
- You will independently perform analysis and prepare structural designs for a wide range of waterfront, bridge, or building projects.
- You will develop complex designs and analysis utilizing engineering software and drawings in AutoCad or REVIT.
- You will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of specifications, criteria, policy, industry criteria and standards, and standard practices as related to structural engineering.
- You will ensure that the structural aspects of the project are constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
- You will review and approve shop drawings, delegated designs, Value Engineering Cost Proposals (VECPs), and provide technical responses to Requests for Information (RFls).
Qualifications
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Professional Engineer (PE) license. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires the incumbent to be a registered Professional Engineer in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your registration with your application to be considered for these positions. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Providing structural engineering analysis and expertise for designs on a wide range of complex projects on new and existing facilities; 2) Preparing work drawings and technical specifications for the structural portion on construction projects; 3) Performing field investigations to verify and document existing conditions as a basis for the design for new/existing projects; 4) Providing technical specifications and detailed labor and material cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding for bid evaluation; and 5) Managing assigned projects from cradle to grave for adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards. Pay Range
$98,827.00 - $128,472.00
