DON Recent Graduates Program You will serve as a DON PATHWAYS RECENT GRADUATES (METEOROLOGIST) in the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR. GS-1340-09 - $64,535- $83.897 GS-1340-07 - $52,759- $68,581

Major Duties

  • Perform a wide range of assignments of considerable difficulty and complexity in the area of atmospheric and/or oceanographic analysis and forecasting.
  • Presents operational results in a general public forum or produces a technical document for inter-agency distribution.
  • Develops, implements, upgrades, evaluates, and maintains systems that use specialized methodologies and analysis techniques for exploiting atmospheric modeling products in military tactical and planning applications.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-09: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. -Interpreted air-sea interaction theory. -Interpreted theories, methods and techniques of professional meteorology and/or oceanography. -Assisted to improve forecast guidance and the performance of tactical decision aids for one or more of the major product areas. -Interpreted software engineering techniques as applied to the development and maintenance of automated, real-time systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-07: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. -Assisted with theories, methods and techniques of professional meteorology and/or oceanography. -Assisted with statistical methods and standards techniques for post-processing and evaluating atmospheric and/or oceanographic numerical analysis and forecast products. -Assisted with software engineering techniques as applied to the development and maintenance of automated, real-time systems. Pay Range
