Job Summary

You will serve as an Engineer/Scientist in the Aegis and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Combat Systems Engineering Branch; Integrated Combat Systems Engineering Division; Integrated Combat Systems Department ofNAVSURFWARCENDLD.

Major Duties

  • You will develop and implement the future Aegis BMD Combat System Engineering vision. You will contribute to long range planning related to current and future baseline development efforts, including the Navy?s 30-year shipbuilding plan.
  • You will ensure requirements align with current and future threats.
  • You will lead and manage Aegis BMD modernization and integration of new missile technology, sensor technology, virtualization, threat updates, speed to fleet capabilities and test efforts during computer program development.
  • You will work closely with land based test sites, developmental and operational testing events, flight test missions on test programs and system testing efforts by leading key systems engineering competency areas.
  • You will identify and manage risks to ensure sound system engineering practices are utilized towards providing a quality capability to the warfighter.
  • You will deepen operational relationships with other services, agencies, industry, allies and partners.
  • You will work closely with sponsors to plan, develop, and negotiate tasking and funding.
  • You will represent NSWCDD with sponsor organizations and higher level management via written, oral and/or formal presentations.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Engineer or Scientist coordinating design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering of naval combat systems. Pay Range

$102,663.00 - $170,800.00
