Job Summary

You will serve as SPECIALIZED MUNITIONS CHIEF ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Special Warfare & Expedition Systems Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This is a Warfare Demonstration position. The ND-05 pay band encompasses the GS-14/15 pay pands.

Major Duties

  • You will be responsible for leading the development of new engineers and scientists including serving as mentor and supporting Branch Managers to meet career competency development requirements
  • You will provide oversight of the division Career Competency Development Program (CCDP)
  • You will monitor the health of Specialized Munitions Divisions technical programs and conduct regular technical and risk reviews to ensure that progress is aligned with adequate system engineering practice.
  • You will actively participate in major technical program projects within the Division, providing direction on technical decision-making within each major project and assessing/evaluating risks.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 or GS-11/12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer or Scientist leading the test and evaluation of engineering explosives projects or programs to identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with technical requirements. Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $164,858.00
