Job Summary

You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Maritime Situational Awareness EO Systems Branch, in the Electro-Optic Technology Division within the Special Warfare & Expeditionary Systems Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.

Major Duties

  • You will serve as Chief Engineer to generate best practices associated with Electro-Optic Technology Division (EOTD) Modeling and Simulation (M and S) process and procedures.
  • You will establish baseline processes and roadmaps enabling Electro-Optic Infrared (EOIR) technology upgrades and mission set development from human in the loop to fully automated functionality.
  • You will participate and lead collaborative efforts across EOTD programs, Department of Defense (DoD) laboratories, Warfare Centers, and other DoD entities.
  • You will Identify and analyze problems; weigh relevance and accuracy of information, generate and evaluate alternative solutions; and make recommendations.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading modeling and simulation processes and procedures for the development and testing of electronic systems or components utilized in electro-optic infrared system technologies. Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $164,858.00
