Job Summary

You will serve as a Environmental Engineer with NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties

  • You will advise staff on environmental engineering principles and theories to ensure project objectives are met in accordance with criteria and standards.
  • You will develop reports to inform management of major environmental problems and the development of programs and project solutions.
  • You will analyze results of environmental studies to determine corrective action for compliance issues.
  • You will administer emergency assistance for spills of hazardous materials, waste, petroleum oils, and lubricants to ensure minimal impact to surrounding areas.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Applying programs designed to protect or improve environmental quality,control pollution, remedy environmental damage, and ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations;

2) Using engineering principles and methods applicable to environmental programs, permitting, chemical analysis, documentation, and routine interface with regulatory agencies;

3) Applying human health risk assessments, development of emisson factor database, soil/groundwater assessments, and alternative technology assessment. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:

$104,182.00 - $135,440.00
