Job Summary

You will serve as an Environmental Engineer in the Environmental Branch, Command Engineer Directorate of COMMANDER US FORCES JAPAN.

Major Duties

  • You will provide expert environmental engineering management and technical direction employing an in-depth understanding of the principles of environmental engineering.
  • You will provide environmental engineering compliance, conservation and pollution prevention expertise and experience to manage and train subordinate staff.
  • You will coordinate and synchronize efforts to support implementation of environmental regulations and procedures.
  • You will develop and issue the Final Governing Standards for Japan, known as Japan Environmental Governing Standards (JEGS).
  • You will plan, coordinate and manage the execution of the annual joint environmental conference/workshop.
  • You will coordinate and validate installation environmental protection.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing expert environmental engineering, protection, and compliance advice; developing, evaluating and promulgating environmental policy/regulation for a headquarters staff(e.g., US Forces, Japan); managing environmental protection programs such as air pollution, water pollution, drinking water systems, hazardous materials and waste, PCB management, and solid waste management; and supervising subordinates. Pay Range

$90,621.00 - $117,810.00
