Job Summary

You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER in the Environmental Business Line of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties

  • You will develop instructions and guidelines for the applicable Navy environmental programs in the area of responsibility.
  • You will maintain data, prepare point papers and reports, and conduct briefings on program status and issues.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and conduct environmental compliance surveys and audits of activities and their operations to investigate compliance with applicable standards for the applicable environmental programs in this position.
  • You will participate in audit team visits to identify all environmental deficiencies and assist the activity in identifying corrective measures and projects for eliminating the deficiencies.
  • You will advise design personnel on environmental issues, provide comments, and make recommendations on changes to designs and project write-ups to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • You will provide technical input on regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advising or consult others in maintaining compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies; 2) Applying environmental engineering concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques to ensure that environmental concerns are properly identified and resolved; 3) Researching and advising others on the specifics of local, state, federal, laws, codes, and other statutory requirements affecting environmental engineering issues throughout an area of responsibility; 4) Planning, coordinating and conducting environmental compliance surveys and audits to investigate compliance with applicable standards; and 5) Managing, administering, and providing environmental engineering support to maintain compliance with Federal, State and local regulatory requirements in environmental compliance including drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, air, oily waste/spills management, and environmental management systems. Pay Range

$85,865.00 - $111,629.00
