Job Summary
The positions are located in the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Chemical Control Division, New Chemicals Management Branch. If selected, you must work at the location stated in this announcement.About the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP).
Major Duties
At the entry level of this position, you will:
-Observe and/or assist in collecting and reviewing technical information contributing to the development of non-regulatory strategies and approaches to reduce or prevent pollution and conserve natural resources.
-Under close supervision and direction, provide routine guidance and technical assistance to stakeholders.
-Assist higher graded staff in making routine changes to policy analyses for pollution prevention regulations, directives, and programs.
-Prepare documentation to support organization and Agency plans, policies and regulations.
When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses.

Qualifications
You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-07 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-05 level defined as reviewing and/or analyzing scientific or technical information - OR 1 full year of graduate level education; or superior academic achievement (Superior Academic Achievement Definition) degree in an academic discipline related to this position.
To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level defined asreviewing and/or analyzing scientific or technical information on environmental issues- OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; degree in an academic discipline related to this position.
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined asdeveloping technical information related to pollution prevention and/or chemical safety - OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., in an academic discipline related to this position
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:1)Knowledge of environmental regulations and directives related to pollution prevention and/or conservation of natural resources; 2)Knowledge of pollutants and exposures; 3)Skill in oral communication; 4)Ability to assist in preparing documentation; 5)Skill in written communication.

Pay Range
$47,016.00 - $90,461.00
