Job Summary

You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) Office of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Major Duties

  • You will manage the command's Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and its Clean Air Act (CAA) and Solid Waste Act programs.
  • You will develop and implement plans to accomplish program goals, modify policies and procedures to comply with frequent legislative changes to applicable laws and regulations as well as higher authority guidance.
  • You will perform on site surveillance and conduct audits of the hazardous material/hazardous waste (HM/HW), hazardous air pollutants and volatile organic compound emission programs.
  • You will advise the Command Duty Officer, ensuring proper record keeping and coordinating with local regulatory authorities.
  • You will audit and conduct on site surveillance of transportation and disposal contractors and facilities for the temporary storage of MW in a multi-state area.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating environmental protection programs by conducting audit to ensure environmental programs comply with laws and regulations. Pay Range

$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
