Job Summary
The incumbent will ensure Installation wide compliance with hazardous and toxic materials and waste management laws and regulations. Major areas include Lead based paint, Asbestos and Radon programs. Moving expenses are NOT authorized, based on a determination that a move is not in the Government's interest. Recruitment, relocation and/or retention incentives are NOT being offered for this position.
Major Duties
- As a Environmental Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Maintain hazardous materials and hazardous waste management systems for handling, tracking, storage and disposal.
- Monitor environmental program compliance by analyzing techniques used for hazardous materials/waste handling and disposal to include asbestos, lead, mold and recycling.
- Communicate environmental practices and procedures to installation activities.
- Review procurement transactions to ensure only permitted materials are utilized.
- Serve as the technical advisor to the Contracting Officer's Representative on contracts involving solid wastes, hazardous waste, water and air quality issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11) or equivalent. Pay Range
$75,195.00 - $97,757.00
