Job Summary
You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Division in the of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Major Duties
- You will work on environmental protection projects of complex scope involving analysis, development, implementation and management of environmental programs.
- You will serve as a command technical expert in one or more program or functional areas and also plan, implement, or monitor other environmental programs.
- You will provide day-to-day environmental compliance and oversight.
- You will manage installation aspects of environmental plans and permits, by ensuring compliance with permits issued by local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies.
- You will provide technical expertise in resolving compliance issues with regulators.
- You will implement corrective action in compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) administer or assist in the administration of an installation Hazardous/Regulated Waste Program; 2) provide advisory support on various media, as well as environmental laws, regulations and policies, to include the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); 3) perform site inspections of authorized hazardous waste accumulation areas to evaluate compliance with program requirements and regulations; 4) gather and maintain data necessary for completing recurring regulatory environmental reporting; and 5) provide input to supported customers and management on how to correct compliance deficiencies and track progress to ensure follow-up/completion. Pay Range
$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
