MajorDuties
- Maintain technical services to multiple research laboratories, tenants and Garrison facilities to collect, receive, transport, repackage, store, and properly disposal of Hazardous Waste (HW) and Hazardous Material (HM).
- Perform accurate waste determinations on highly toxic laboratory chemicals.
- Review and evaluates customer processes to characterize the structure, use, compatibility, condition, health hazard, reactivity, and spill precautions of HW and HM.
- Perform weekly inspections on the HW/HM.
- Implement and comply with environmental regulations such as, DOT, RCRA, EPA , MDE, and OSHA.

Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience the second lower grade level in the federal service (GS-09), which includes: 1) Applying Hazardous Waste (HW) and Hazardous Material (HM) laws and regulations in compliance with enforcing agencies such as: [Department of Transportation (DOT), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Maryland Department of Environment (MDE), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)]. 2) Preforming the proper waste identification and waste determinations of hazardous wastes, with proper labeling, handling, packaging, storing, transporting, and disposal; and 3) Proper waste management of a large variety of hazardous research laboratory chemicals. 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree In addition to the specialized experience, this position has Selective Placement Factors that must be met: 1).Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Waste Training (Certification Required at time of application.)

Pay Range
$72,030.00 - $93,638.00
