Major Duties

You will:

  • Serve as the primary internal review for negotiations, facilitation, creation, and evaluation of compliance with tribal agreements to develop and implement the EPA/Tribal partnership for environmental protection.
  • Maintain fiduciary accountability for over $10 million of tribal program grant funds under various statutes.
  • Serve as a primary contact point between the Region 8 and assigned Tribes, developing and implementing the necessary plans for fostering effective tribe EPA/relationships.
  • Serve as a contact to the public, Tribal representatives, other Federal agencies, and Regional Staff.
  • Serve as one or more media program or tribal initiative liaisons or leads, as assigned.

You will spend 50% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or inter agency agreements.

Qualifications

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as experience managing EPA grants; experience working with non-EPA entities; experience providing technical support or advice on environmental media programs..Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of tribal governments, negotiation and issue resolution

Knowledge of grants management processes and procedures.

Ability to facilitate issue resolution of within EPA and between EPA and the tribes.

Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned media program or tribal initiative. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range

$100,027.00 - $130,039.00
