Job Summary

You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Future Operations Directorate of Commander of COMUSNAVEUR-COMSIXTHFLEET STAFF.

Major Duties

  • You will be responsible for environmental documentation and policy development for all operations and training.
  • You will be responsible for oversight, direction, management, and coordination of environmental processes and accomplishment of special environmental management projects.
  • You will act as the technical adviser in the area of Environmental Compliance with an emphasis on compliance with respect to military readiness activities that include the use of stressors that are potentially impactful to the ocean environment.
  • You will provide technical, procedural, and management guidance to ensure that the command and subordinate commands comply with environmental instructions, policy, laws, and regulations.
  • You will review the environmental policies of other nations to ensure U.S. Navy compliance within these nations Territorial Waters and other areas/waterspace within the area of responsibilities.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying environmental concepts, principles and practices to manage environmental protection planning for military readiness activities; 2) Reviewing plans, designs, specifications and scopes of work to determine their impact on health, environment and natural cultural resources; 3) Determining the effect of active sonar and explosives used during fleet training and operations; and 4) Applying federal, state and local laws, agency regulations and guidelines to environmental issues. Pay Range

$78,681.00 - $102,288.00
