Job Summary

You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Environmental Department of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST, Lemoore, CA.

Major Duties

  • You will review environmental issues with investigations, inspection reports, inquiries, or complaints to determine corrective action.
  • You will collect and review technical information on environmental activities or environmental quality to identify and solve problems of a procedural or factual nature.
  • You will compose reports, official correspondence, memorandums, or information papers for environmental projects or programs.
  • You will oversee an environmental spill response program to ensure organizational mission, goals, and objectives are met.
  • You will coordinate with private industry contractors and federal engineers to verify projects are handled in an environmentally safe manner.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying established principles, concepts, and methods of environmental protection when performing a variety of duties involving the management, coordination, monitoring, oversight, or evaluation of routine programs, projects or activities; 2) Referencing standards, regulatory requirements, and pertinent statues are sufficient to assure environmental compliance to provide technical assistance to operating personnel and managers; 3) Performs inspections, and audits and prepare reports of command compliant status, findings of non-compliance, notices of violations and recommendations to correct violations; and 4) Prepare/review supporting documentation for the environmental program budget. Pay Range

$64,009.00 - $83,210.00
