Job Summary

You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Environmental Affairs Branch, G-F Division ofMARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER .

Major Duties

  • You will assist with or leads (depending on the nature of project or manning) the planning and administering of the installation environmental compliance program.
  • You will identify problems, proposing solutions, investigating, conducting root cause analysis, facilitating working groups/communication, and conducting compliance audits and site visits.
  • You will conduct inspections for compliance of all environmental media as required; identify in writing, areas of non-compliance on the Camp(s)/Station; and perform environmental analysis to determine the best method to mitigate problems.
  • You will evaluate facilities and ranges used for operations and storage involving hazardous substances through the use of standardized guidance and checklists and knowledge of environmental programs.
  • You will segregate hazardous waste streams and coordinate chemical analyses; assist units with spill response clean-up by providing environmental hazard and damage minimization and abatement expertise, and coordinate spill response plans.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience in establishing, implementing and/or managing a multi-media environmental program to achieve environmental compliance of air, land and water resources. Pay Range

$45,627.00 - $59,316.00
