Job Summary
You will serve as the Hazardous Waste Program Manager in the Environmental Division, Public Works Department Kingsville, of Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast.
Major Duties
- You will prepare, update and implement environmental protection plans.
- You will ensure compliance with Federal, State and DoD environmental regulations.
- You will prepare/review supporting documentation for the environmental program budget.
- You will coordinate and execute an Inspection Program for hazardous waste management.
- You will prepare and continually monitor waste streams to classify waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
- You will use computer applications (database, digital photography, geographic information systems) to prepare reports.
- You will coordinate with supervisors, managers, and/or contractors to obtain resolution to environmental issues.
- You will manage an environmental training program for hazardous waste generators and handlers.
- You will manage/coordinate environmental compliance program on site as well as with tenants and contractors.
- You will utilize analytical techniques to evaluate environmental findings or conditions.
- You will prepare/review documentation related to the labeling, shipping and billing of HW.
- You will prepare written reports and documentation regarding assigned environmental programs.
- You will review Material Safety Data Sheets to provide technical assistance for waste management, compatibility and disposal.
- You will determine actions that need to be taken to rectify environmental code violations.
- You will manage on-scene coordination in spill containment and cleanup of hazardous material and waste.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Applying established principles, concepts, and methods of
environmental protection when performing a variety of duties involving the management, coordination, monitoring, oversight, or evaluation of routine programs, projects or activities; 2) Referencing standards, regulatory requirements, and pertinent statues sufficient to assure environmental compliance to provide technical assistance to operating personnel and managers; 3) Collecting samples of hazardous waste and material for proper analytical analysis by following procedures; 4) Assisting in the disposal, collection, and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste; and 5) Researches information about materials to identify or support proper disposal. Pay Range
$62,419.00 - $81,150.00
