Job Summary

You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Major Duties

  • You will work on environmental protection projects of complex scope involving analysis, development, implementation and management of environmental programs.
  • You will serve as a command technical expert in one or more program or functional areas and also plan, implement, or monitor other environmental programs.
  • You will provide day-to-day environmental compliance and oversight.
  • You will manage installation aspects of environmental plans and permits, by ensuring compliance with permits issued by local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • You will provide technical expertise in resolving compliance issues with regulators.
  • You will implement corrective action in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensures compliance with regulations by satisfying the conditions of existing permits, modifying existing permits, and applying for new permits; 2) Reviews environmental standards, specifications, and plans of complex projects and collaborates with planners and designers in order to ensure compliance with environmental requirements; 3) Conducts site investigations and surveys and collaborates with customers and other organizations to resolve environmental compliance concerns; 4) Coordinates with environmental regulatory agencies regarding interpretation and applicability of compliance requirements; 5) Gathers and submits technical information in support of data calls, taskers, environmental submissions, and reports in assessing program effectiveness; 6) Conducts detailed analysis of proposed regulations for integrating environmental factors to improve operational processes and procedures; 7) Analyzes processes, procedures, and principles to continually improve existing programs; and 8) Develops and conducts training and briefing for leadership regarding environmental compliance concerns and recommendations for continual improvement. Pay Range

$74,596.00 - $96,978.00
