Job Summary
You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Major Duties
- You will develop objectives and plans to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Navy directives and regulations
- You will conduct formal and informal environmental regulations training for personnel at the installation.
- You will perform audits and inspections to verify environmental compliance.
- You will serve as a member of the Installation Spill Response Team. Advise Installation Spill Response team on matters related to environmental programs.
- You will review and interpret proposed laws and policies to determine impacts on operations, including: potential new permit requirements; projects required to achieve compliance; increased costs; and increased manpower to maintain compliance.
- You will review projects and provide comments to ensure that necessary provisions to meet applicable or potential environmental standards are included.
- You will identify, brief, and resolve compliance problems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, implementing, or monitoring the administration of installation's environmental programs to include: Hazardous Waste Management/Disposal, Spill Prevention/Recovery, Spill Response, Emissions, and Potable Water programs; 2) Providing advisory support on various media, as well as environmental laws, regulations and policies, to include the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); 3) Coordinating environmental program inspections to evaluate compliance with all applicable regulatory regulations and policies; 4) Gathering and maintaining data necessary for completing recurring regulatory environmental reporting; and 5) Providing input to supported customers and management on how to correct compliance deficiencies and track progress to ensure follow-up/completion. Pay Range
$74,815.00 - $97,263.00
