Job Summary

This is a Permanent Career/Career-Conditional full-time position. This announcement is being advertised concurrently under IM-1539-ZION-20-10779975-ST, at the GS-9 Full Performance Grade level. You must apply to each announcement separately if you wish to be considered under both grade levels.

Major Duties

This position will be part of the Zion Resource Management team, and will assist in the preparation, internal review, public involvement and review process for assigned environmental compliance documents. This is a busy park with a wide range of projects. The position may also assist in scientific research permit issuing and tracking. The incumbent reviews and monitors internal and external projects for compliance with Federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies. Projects will require knowledge ranging from landscape architecture, to a wide range of natural and cultural resources. and require working with a broad team of specialists to assess and mitigate project impacts.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement, unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following qualifications: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: monitoring new construction for compliance with environmental requirements, collecting data or performing basic background research, tracking and inputting complex data, assisting in collecting or organizing public or interdisciplinary input. You must include hours per week worked for each job description.

Education: Successful completion of 1 year (18 semester/27 quarter credits) of graduate-level education DIRECTLY related to the position (archeology, anthropology, history, GIS, environmental science, biology, outdoor recreation planner). COMBINATION: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".

Pay Range

$43,251.00 - $56,222.00
