Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate, Washington, District of Columbia. This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 100 applications have been received, whichever happens first.
Major Duties
- Conducts compliance assessments for any DHS-conducted or sponsored projected involving biological and/or chemical agents, surrogates, and/or simulants.
- Reviews projects with potential treaty compliance or perception concerns that require review.
- Advocates for DHS equities in relevant interagency groups and conducting regular outreach activities.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic AND Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. Basic Requirement: You must meet one of the items listed below (A or B): A. Degree: Possess a biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts). OR B. Combination of education and experience -- Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Must provide transcript) AND Specialized Experience:GS-15: Applicant must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service that included: Applying knowledge such as biology, microbiology, physical sciences, and health sciences. Applying knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines related to care of animals. Complying with chemical and biological weapon treaties. Applying knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines to protect human subjects in research and development. Organizing, planning, monitoring, and evaluating projects to communicate effectively in writing and orally to individuals and groups. Pay Range
$142,701.00 - $170,800.00
