Job Summary

You will serve as a General Engineer in the Infrastructure Division, Code/102 of NSWC PHILA DIV. This position may be filled by General Engineer (801), Civil Engineer (0810),

Major Duties

  • You will serve as an Project Manager managing the overall budget, schedule, and progress of approved and funded facilities projects.
  • You will be responsible for the development and confirmation of department product and service requirements.
  • You will manage the overall budget, schedule, and progress of approved and funded projects, and promote timely delivery to the technical/functional department.
  • You will identify future requirements for the purpose of planning mid/long range budget funding.
  • You will perform a full range of engineering duties with systems used in and around land-based engineering/test sites, industrial facilities, multi-story buildings and physical plants for operational, test and evaluation, research and development.
  • You will study, assess, and prepare written technical analyses and evaluations in support of contract actions related to facilities and building systems.
  • You will be responsible for performing NSWCPD facility planning; engineering support, design and construction to ensure that all engineering components of the facilities meet the mission requirements.
  • You will create electronic layout drawings showing location of offices, restrooms, walkways, doorways, workstations, equipment, power outlets, etc. using AUTOCAD.
  • You will prepare cost estimates and manpower requirements.
  • You will communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Qualifications

For GS 13:

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position (found in the Education section of this announcement), your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12) in the Federal service, or equivalent experience in the private sector as a professional engineer applying engineering methods, and techniques to lead industrial infrastructure alteration or modernization projects for engineering systems supporting test and evaluation, or research and development programs. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Performing a full range of engineering duties associated with systems used in and around ship maintenance areas, test sites, industrial facilities, multi-story buildings and physical plants for operations or engineering test and evaluation, research and development, or other purposes. Pay Range

$80,806.00 - $124,913.00
