Job Summary
A successful candidate in this position will performs all tasks associated with planning, controlling, and reporting of the project activities and project management/program objectives, including responsibility for managing the resources associated with these programs/projects.
Major Duties
As an Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Physical Scientist, you will:
- Prepare and obtain approval of Federal documents required for project planning, execution and closeout of assigned construction programs projects in accordance with project management guidance and directives.
- Support programs and project to maintain, modernize, and replace various types of facilities and equipment.
- Review and approve contractor plans for accomplishing work on assigned projects, including goals and objectives, work breakdown structures, detailed scope descriptions, detailed schedules, risk management approach, milestone descriptions, budgets, and staffing requirements.
- Ensure that assigned program/project activities are carried out in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, policies, and guidance. Lead, coordinate and perform and/or participate in, and documents, field management assessments and audits/surveillance.
- Act as focal point for assigned programs/projects with other program/project engineers, with DOE and Argonne technical and business liaisons, and with external stakeholders as required.
- Prepare and present briefings to senior management and HQ staff in assigned areas. Resolves issues affecting assigned programs/projects with support from other technical experts within or outside assigned organization.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS: Experience participating in coordinating programs to maintain, modernize, and replace various types of facilities and equipment; coordinating integration and facilitating implementation of project management-related activities involving construction and engineering programs and projects; providing input with planning, controlling, and reporting project activities and project management/program objectives; providing input to contractor oversight of resources associated with programs/projects.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL
GS-13:In addition to the basic education requirements listed above, to qualify at the GS-13 level applicants must possess one of the following:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:Experience in developing, analyzing and reviewing operating procedures, designing standards, construction management methods, and specification requirements to promote quality engineering and construction;monitoring progress, anticipates, recognizes and resolving problems or conflicts to ensure timely completion of program/project objectives.

Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, project management policies and principles, methods and techniques to ensure effective and timely achievement of project goals and objectives.
Knowledge of all phases of a construction effort including new equipment and operations startup.
Knowledge, through training and experience of practices, principles, and procedures of maintenance management systems.

Pay Range
$85,084.00 - $131,532.00
