Job Summary

The position is responsible for the planning, directing, scheduling, coordinating, and executing district designs, as well as developing and/or enforcing of designs for the US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) and other Department of Defense (DoD) medical organizations.

Major Duties

  • Employ engineering and architectural knowledge towards the planning and design of construction, renovation, and improvement projects for medical and laboratory research facilities.
  • Provide oversight of technical review of design calculations, analyses, drawings, and specifications to insure compliance with project objectives and standards.
  • Provide technical and program management guidance to senior level management.
  • Serve as design manager for repair and construction projects for designated installations.
  • Prepare Architectural/Engineering (A/E) statements of work for the design of medical facilities projects.
  • Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with contract provisions and standards.
  • Analyze new minor construction, renovations, and improvements needed to meet new mission and environmental requirements.
  • Recommend updates, revisions, or redevelop approved US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) standards and standard designs.
  • Provide monthly status reports, process pay estimates, and complete Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) evaluations.
  • Act as point of contact for technical issues related to the assigned MEDCOM facilities.
  • Provide information to program managers for their response to technical and programmatic inquiries from MEDCOM HQ, Corps of Engineers Districts and other Army organizations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which Manage a large multi-discipline technical organization charged with execution of a MEDCOM construction project; (2) Provide feedback and methods to improve technical performance to section members and (3) Formulate and implement engineering technical quality programs such as Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $118,603.00
