Job Summary

You will serve as a Interdisciplinary in the Acoustics Department of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Major Duties

  • Utilizes approved acoustic models and environmental databases to model transmission loss and acoustic performance.
  • Maintains proficiency in underwater acoustics theory and practical application.
  • Reconstructs and analyze the environment of anomalous acoustic events to resolve and improve performance predictions.
  • Maintains and enhances software applications used for database development, acoustic analyses and reconstructions.
  • Generates planning and operational analyses documents.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the Gs-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Documents scientific and technical information.

- Utilizes underwater acoustic models and environmental databases to predict transmission loss and acoustic performance.

- Maintains, enhances and validates software using computer programming.

- Correlates and adjusts data with interdisciplinary parameters such as bathymetry, tectonics, magnetics and oceanography.

- Analyzes and interprets oceanographic geophysical and geological data. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:

Pay Range

$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
