Job Summary

You will serve as the Lead Remedial Project Manager in the Environmental Department of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as either an Environmental Engineer (0819) or Physical Scientist (1301).

Major Duties

  • You will provide consistent and high quality documentation for environmental engineering projects for all customers in the region.
  • You will provide team coaching and monitors performance.
  • You will facilitate information sharing, coordination and distribution of technical data.
  • You will oversee acquisition strategy via the assignment of work made to various contracts, monitor technical progress, and ensure completion of established milestones.
  • You will review work by team members to ensure that Congressional, environmental and administrative constraints on project scope and cost are not exceeded or violated.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor for those applying to the Environmental Engineering series (0819) that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the basic requirements and selective placement factor (if applicable), your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading other professional engineers or scientists in achieving an organization's environmental remediation project objectives;

2) Serving as a technical expert in applying laws, regulations and standards applicable to environmental engineering and remedial project management; and

3) Preparing government estimates and negotiating various contracts for an environmental restoration program. NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:

Pay Range

$102,104.00 - $132,739.00
