Job Summary

This position is an architect/engineer (A/E) manager working in the Technical Support Section, Engineering Branch, Engineering, Construction and Planning Division. Boasting a comfortable climate a great location, historical charm and a variety of resources, the Wilmington area is one of the best places to live in the nation. Wilmington, North Carolina is a coastal town with a population of over 150,000 located between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean.

Major Duties

  • Provides professional, technical, and administrative support for Architect-Engineer (A-E) Contract activities.
  • Ensures Scope of works for of Architect-Engineer (A-E) Contracts are accurate and capture all customer and regulatory guidance.
  • Reviews Architect-Engineer (A-E) proposals and prepares all negotiation document.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance to other division personnel in planning for the use of and administration of service contracts.
  • Serves as a liaison between Project management, Design Team, Government field office, End user and Architect-Engineer Contract Firm.
  • Executes Customer request contract modification to meet the customer?s changing requirements.
  • Effectively communicates statuses of Design Projects to the Project delivery team through written communication and leading meeting when necessary.
  • Prepares accurate Architect-Engineer status reports for the District.
  • Responsible for documenting the quality and delivery of Architect-Engineer products consistent with the current management plan.
  • Reviews Architect-Engineer proposals and prepares negotiation paper work.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes experience managing Architect-Engineer (A-E) project design work for civil work projects, electrical, mechanical, and architectural features. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position requires a current, active, valid Professional Registration license as a Engineer or Architect in a state, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States. $76,721.00 - $99,741.00
