Job Summary

You will serve as a SENIOR REGIONAL TECHNICAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS DIVISION of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This is an interdisciplinary position that will be filled as one of the following occupational series: Fire Protection Engineer (0804), Landscape Architect (0807), Architect (0808), Civil Engineer (0810), Mechanical Engineer (0830) or Electrical Engineering (0850).

Major Duties

  • You will execute difficult, complex, or controversial projects with far-reaching scope and effect.
  • You will serve as technical lead for Multiple Award Construction Contracts (MACCs).
  • You will provide guidance and leadership to others on technical requirements.
  • You will facilitate information sharing, coordination, and distribution of information among contract team and Capital Improvements members.
  • You will prepare Technical Evaluation Team reports as a member of the Source Selection Evaluation Board.

Qualifications

This position has a Selective Placement Factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The Selective Placement Factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0804, 0810, 0830, or 0850 series. You must be a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) if applying for the 0807 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license or registration with your application package. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement and Selective Placement Factor requirements for your series, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading or advising others on design, design build, source selection contracting, and construction program requirements for the operations and functional programs of a Command; 2) Ensuring proper application of NAVFAC facilities acquisition processes and adherence to overall system requirements are followed for assigned projects; 3) Utilizing organization, budgeting, planning, and project management techniques to provide quality architecture or engineering services and products for construction projects; and 4) Advising or providing consulting to others on facilities design, development, construction, and sustainment to support program needs and objectives. Pay Range

$102,104.00 - $132,739.00
