Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will coordinate the response to design-build submittals, construction contractor technical questions, shop drawings submittals and design revisions.
  • You will enforce technical and administrative provisions related to the management of assigned construction contracts.
  • You will interpret the intent of the contract documents (e.g., drawings and specifications) to make final engineering or architecture determinations on contract requirements.
  • You will monitor construction activity to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and scheduling.
  • You will perform functional reviews of engineering documents and designs to ensure compliance with the requirements of the construction project.

Qualifications

For GS-12

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Performs construction management and construction engineering for alternations, repair, and new construction of a broad range of facilities; 2) Prepares construction cost estimates in support of contract negotiations; 3) Reviews and approves all contract technical submittals (e.g. design drawings, product selection, environmental protection plans, schedules and/or quality control plans); 4) Monitors construction contractor quality and safety programs by conducting site visits; and 5) Reviews pre-final contract drawing and specifications. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supports construction engineering for alternations, repair, and new construction of a broad range of facilities; 2) Uses computer software to prepare construction cost estimates; 3) Reviews contract technical submittals for technical adequacy and completeness; and 4) Monitors construction contractor quality and safety programs by conducting site visits; Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:

Pay Range

$62,236.00 - $96,978.00
