Job Summary

The selectee for this position will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS BUSINESS LINE of ENGRFLDACT, NW/RESOFCHARGECONST EFA. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as an, Architect (0808), Civil Engineer (0810), Mechanical Engineer (0830), or Electrical Engineer (0850). Required travel is 20% or less.

Major Duties

  • You will develop construction drawings and specifications for structures (e.g., housing, office buildings, training facilities, recreation facilities, industrial shops, hospitals) to complete new construction projects.
  • You will evaluate the engineering, design, and construction work performed by other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • You will coordinate technical project management efforts (e.g., design, system development, evaluations, certifications) with contractors to make corrective adjustments for program success.
  • You will develop facility lifecycle requirements to verify sufficient infrastructure exists to support organization mission capabilities.
  • You will anticipate risks or problems in engineering proposals to develop solutions or mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0810, 0830, or 0850 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Selective Placement Factor for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing engineering or architectural expertise for the design, construction contract, budget management and acquisitions processes to support a variety of ashore construction projects; 2) Conducting field investigations to verify existing conditions of facilities and applying that knowledge toward new construction and renovation projects; 3) Handling projects of considerable difficulty, which may warrant innovative or prototypical design solutions; 4) Reviewing plans and designs prepared by professional architects or engineers in Naval Activities and client organizations to determine conformance with Navy and DOD criteria and contract scope; and 5) Managing projects that stress adherence to budget, schedule and quality standards. Pay Range

$99,941.00 - $129,926.00
