Job Summary

You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER/MECHANICAL ENGINEER/ ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/ FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER/ ARCHITECT in the Capital Improvements Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 12.62% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Major Duties

  • You will review pre-final contract drawings and specifications (including technical RFPs) with respect to constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions.
  • You will review and approve contractor administrative submittals such as schedules (both bar charts and networks), environmental protection plan, design (as applicable) and construction quality control plan, health and safety plan, etc.
  • You will monitor available project budget and time constrains, including relevant cost and schedule growth metrics, and initiating appropriate planning and corrective action as necessary to ensure funding thresholds are not exceeded.
  • You will manage complex and challenging construction projects in various geographic locations.
  • You will prepare or coordinate the preparation of sketches, drawings, and engineering details in support of negotiations and issuance of the modification.
  • You will identify the need for a modification to scope, cost and/or schedule based on collaboration with the contractor, Supported Command, designer and/or other entities.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer or Architect performing the following duties: 1) Construction management and construction engineering for alternations, repair, and new construction of a broad range of facilities; 2) Reviews and approves all contract technical submittals (e.g. design drawings, product selection, environmental protection plans, schedules and/or quality control plans); 3) Manages multiple priorities during the administration of construction contracts; and 4) Reviews pre-final contract drawing and specifications. Pay Range

$78,927.00 - $106,359.00
