Job Summary
You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect in the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division (FEAD) of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Major Duties
- You will enforce technical and administrative provisions related to the management of assigned construction contracts.
- You will review engineering plans and specifications to ensure constructability and contractibility, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, availability, or suitability of specified materials, suitability of design for intended use.
- You will prepare construction cost-estimates to be used for contract negotiations.
- You will negotiate changes in price, terms and conditions resulting from contract modifications.
- You will serve as technical representative or chairman for meetings involving project planning, process improvement or test planning.
- You will participate in meeting with contractors and project sponsors to ensure adherence to schedules and design.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Performing construction management and construction engineering for alternations, repair, and new construction of a broad range of facilities; 2) Preparing construction cost estimates in support of contract negotiations; 3) Reviewing and approving all contract technical submittals (e.g. design drawings, product selection, environmental protection plans, schedules and/or quality control plans); 4) Monitoring construction contractor quality and safety programs by conducting site visits; and 5) Reviewing pre-final contract drawing and specifications. Pay Range
$86,335.00 - $112,240.00
