Job Summary

You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/ARCHITECT (PE/RA) in the Capital Improvement Business Line of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 10.28% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time. This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by any of the following series: 0804 Fire Protection Engineer; 0808 Architect; 0810 Civil Engineer; 0830 Mechanical Engineer; 0850 Electrical Engineer.

Major Duties

  • You will review contractor safety plans, activity hazard analysis, accident prevention plans, or significant incident reports (CSIR) when submitted for the project safety program.
  • You will develop engineering project scopes to ensure projects are justifiable and support the mission and operational requirements of the command.
  • You will write technical documents to recommend resolution of construction and contractual matters.
  • You will modify standard practices and adapt techniques to resolve architecture and engineering issues during operational planning.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing project management of facilities design and construction projects; 2) Reviewing architectural and engineering plans and specifications for accuracy, economy of design, practicability and conformance with technical guidance, criteria and good construction practice; 3) Recommending solutions to engineering and architectural issued encountered in the design and construction of facilities; 4) Monitoring the execution of facility design and construction contracts. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: The position requires current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) by any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Pay Range

$81,315.00 - $109,465.00
