Job Summary
You will serve as a Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect/Community Planner in the Asset Management Business Line of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
Major Duties
- You will conduct technical reviews of facilities planning products (i.e., Basic Facilities Requirements [BFRs], Facilities Support Requirements [FSRs]) to determine if objectives are met.
- You will develop, coordinate, and review facility requirement documents for accuracy per the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
- You will lead other planners in providing facilities planning and engineering services to clients.
- You will oversee multi-disciplinary teams on project management directives for successful project execution within construction standards.
- You will advise on solutions to problems encountered during the design and construction.
- You will develop alternative solutions to design and engineering issues.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Analyzing engineering, management, and economic data, developing appropriate alternatives, and identifying benefits and liabilities; 2) Manipulating abstract planning concepts in unique and uncertain conditions; and 3) Serving as a technical representative on architectural and engineering contracts; 4) Leading multi-disciplined teams in base and asset development; and 5) Utilizing automated systems and software (e.g. Navy Shore Facility Planning System) to produce facility or community planning projects. I have a bachelor's or higher degree in a field related to architecture that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.
OR
I have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. My curriculum for a degree in either architecture or architectural engineering covers function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily(but not exclusively) intended to house human activities OR I lack a degree in architecture, but I have 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture that demonstrates that I have acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture. (Note - In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required).
Pay Range
$88,888.00 - $115,552.00
