Job Summary

Major Duties

  • You will execute and oversee the contract execution of the development of Basic Facility Requirements in accordance with current best practices and latest planning criteria.
  • You will provide complex administrative, technical and professional services for facility requirements planning and support to multiple large, complex, industrial installations.
  • You will serve as a planning consultant by providing expertise in developing functional requirements and application of planning criteria.
  • You will review construction project parameters (e.g., integration, scope, time, cost, quality, communication, procurement, risk management) to recommend changes that will improve the overall project results.

Qualifications

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by any of the following series: 0020 Community Planning; 0801 General Engineering; 0808 Architect. In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing duties such as (1) Using knowledge of the principles, concepts, theories, and practices of community planning, architecture, and/or engineering to provide services associated with maintaining facilities, land and other resources; (2) Reviewing technical documents used in the planning, design construction, alteration and/or repair of facilities in order to provide technical advice in planning and project development and (3) Developing plans, goals, and objectives for facility management projects, programs, systems, or operations (e.g., strategic plans, work breakdown structures, integration plans, performance measures, risk management plans, cost-benefit analysis); 4) Reviews and approves Activity Hazard Analysis, Critical Lift Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, and/or management of the contractor's safety program; and 5) Manages multiple priorities during the administration of construction contracts. OR

A combination of education and experience where you have successfully completed a community planning degree, or a degree in a related discipline such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration and have one (1) year of work experience in community planning acquired under the supervision and guidance of a community planner.

OR

A combination of education and experience where your courses were equivalent to a major in community planning , urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration; or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the listed disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

Pay Range

$74,750.00 - $97,179.00
