Job Summary
You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Environmental subject matter expert in the Environmental Business Line of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Major Duties
- You will direct environmental investigations while applying technical procedures in response to inquiries (e.g., inspector general inspections, or other audit reports).
- You will evaluate environmental quality assessment (EQA) programs for compliance with environmental regulations.
- You will monitor the application and maintenance of environmental compliance requirements on base operations.
- You will assist with the identification of root cause analysis and alternate courses of action found during inspections.
- You will advise staff on environmental engineering principles and theories to ensure project objectives are met in accordance with criteria and standards.
- You will oversee contracted work to ensure conformance to scopes of work for environmental projects.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Serving as the technical expert for the substantive and procedural requirements for one or more environmental programs and the Navy's environmental policy; 2) Developing, devising, and review guidelines, point papers, and instructions to provide guidance to management regarding environmental issues; 3) Providing oversight at the installation level of environmental compliance for the management of major programs to include hazardous waste, drinking water, spill response, or installation restoration; 4) Overseeing natural and cultural resources related programs and projects at the installation level to ensure projects accurately address requisite regulatory requirements. Pay Range
$86,335.00 - $112,240.00
