Job Summary

You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST/ ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/ GENERAL PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Major Duties

  • You will interpret environmental regulations to provide clarification, management, and implementation of regulatory compliance.
  • You will resolve environmental problems (e.g., water, air, solid waste, hazardous waste) encountered by the installation to achieve compliance with Federal, State, and Local environmental control regulations.
  • You will advise staff on environmental engineering principles and theories to ensure project objectives are met in accordance with criteria and standards.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing one or more environmental programs/media such as natural or cultural resources, environmental planning, air, potable water, wastewater, stormwater, environmental management systems/environmental quality assessments and pollution prevention; 2) Interpreting environmental laws, regulations, instructions and policies and evaluate the effect they will have on the organization; and 3) Reviewing facility studies, plans, and designs for compliance with environmental regulations. Pay Range

$86,335.00 - $112,240.00
